Parents Magazine
Yeah I know that it’s a basic one, but there’s some good info in there. You can tell that the magazine editors think that the word “Parent” actually means “mother.” They’ve got some great content, but what about the guy stuff?

Wired Magazine
This has nothing to do with parenting, except it talks about the stuff our kids will use every day. I’ve been a subscriber for years and think it’s the best magazine out there. They go a little crazy on the whole “green” thing, but other than that its well worth the $10 a year.

Be Prepared: A Paractical Handbook for New Dads
First of all, i loved this book and site. I read it before our daughter was born and it’s packed full of tips for a new dad. It’s also written in the old Boy Scouts manual style, which is pretty cool.

The Happiest Baby on the Block
I can’t say enough about this book by Dr. Harvey Karp. I co-worker had let me borrow it and it made the first several months so much easier. It’s based on the five “S’s”: Swaddling, Side, Shhh, Swinging and Suckle. When you master this technique, a baby will calm down in mere seconds.

Rich Dad
This has changed my life in the most literal way. Robert Kiyosaki’s books like “Rich Dad Poor Dad” have helped me gain some bit of financial success. It’s small right now, but it’s put me on a track to success. This is a must for any family.

Fun & Toys

Table Toppers
Now listen, if you only take one thing from this site, click this link and order some Table Toppers. They’re plastic, disposable, placemats that stick to a table. I can’t tell you how awesome they are for restaurants.

This is a great blog that centers on financial topics.  It’s written in a very conversational way, is insightful and has great reader participation.
