You’re missing your remote aren’t you? Hey, where’s those car keys? The little ones in your life look up to you like you’re the greatest thing in the world and want to play with what ever you’re using.
So if you’re missing one or two things around the house, here’s the top ten places to find them. For starters, look under the lid, at least that’s where we found our daughter’s Care Bear. Not in there, keep going down the list till you find it. Better yet, take the opportunity to go buy a shiny new gadget.
Top Ten Places Your Kid Hid Your Stuff
- The Toilet?
- If found, place item in dryer. If item was electronic, drive to Circuit City.
- If item is still missing, go to step #2
- The Clothes Hamper?
- This is a popular place for any article of clothing or any item that looks like it’s dirty.
- If item is still missing, go to step #3
- Behind the Sofa Cushions?
- More than a few items appeared behind a sofa cushion, check there now.
- No luck? Visit step #4
- In the Toys?
- Check the little compartments in toys, such as the trunk on a push car.
- Really, not there either? Go to step #5
- The Sandbox?
- This is a little more unusual, but if its missing, it’s worth checking.
- Wow, it’s not looking good. Go to step #6
- The Litter Box?
- Better hope it’s not here. Remember the Litter Critter commercial?
- Bet you’re glad you are moving on to step #7
- Kitchen Cabinets?
- Here’s an old standby. You will probably find what you’re looking for here.
- Wow, your kid is clever, keep moving on to step #8
- The Refrigerator?
- It may not be your kid that lost your precious item, a frazzled parent may have left it in the refrigerator when getting the milk.
- Alright, back to blaming the kid. Go to step #9
- In the Garage?
- This is pretty much a desperation place, you know it’s not in there.
- Give up now or go to step #10
- In the Diaper?
- The number one place to look is the number two place. If you’re missing something like your wedding ring, slip on the latex gloves and go dumper diving.
- Wow, sorry what ever you’re looking for is gone. Go get a new one.

Great post. You really made my day. I have three kids under six, so I can relate. You did forget under the rug.
